Grizzly Bear Trophy

The Grizzly bear is also available as a throw rug and hand puppet. This Grizzly bear would love to share your den.  It is one of the larger bears that we make.  The fake fur has a lifelike grizzled color.  Each trophy is hand sculpted, so no two are exactly alike.

Grizzlies are a type of brown bear that got it's name from the thick brown fur that is tipped with lighter colored hairs making the fur look grizzled.  The male grows quite large, reaching lengths of 8' and weighing about 800 pounds.  The Alaskan brown bear can measure 10' and weigh 1700 pounds.  Brown bears dig dens in hillsides where they sleep during the winter months.  The bears are fond of berries, fish, grubs and deer, but are adaptable and will eat anything available.  Generally bears try to avoid human contact, but if surprised or threatened they might attack.  Sows with cubs can be the most aggressive when trying to protect cubs.  Don't try to outrun a bear or fight back.  Learn how to travel safely in bear country before you go.
